Hello all! I can’t believe I’m already typing up a Monday post right now! This weekend was a crazy whirlwind of a weekend but it was so fun! I’m looking forward to having a short work week this week thanks to my job. I’m very excited to have off Christmas eve until the first Monday of the new year! Glorious!!!!
I’m the youngest of three and the middle sister turned 30 this weekend! My other sister, one of my cousin’s and I wanted to do something extra special for her so back in the summer we cooked up the idea to do an overnight girls trip to Atlantic City. We didn’t tell the birthday girl where or what we were doing. We decided on booking a room at Harrah’s so we could try out their indoor pool and bar area which is what they are known for.
I don’t know about you, but staying in a hotel makes me feel at ease. I feel relaxed, fun, and easy-going vacation mode. We checked in around 8:00 pm since we had to work on Friday and spent time exploring the hotel shops, restaurants, bars, and casino area. We stopped at this cute Gelato and cafe spot and I got this delicious peanut butter brownie and a caramel coffee. It was as delicious as it looks!
We enjoyed a celebratory bottle of champagne and my sisters played a few games at the casino.
My sisters both played this Ellen DeGeneres game but had some different outcomes. One only won 13 cents and the other won about 100 dollars! Sadly the birthday girl was the winner of the 13 cents!
We ended the night with some late night tv watching, girl chatting, and went to bed around 1:30. I’m normally an old woman when it comes to going to bed early, so I was a wild woman this weekend!
Saturday we enjoyed some breakfast sandwiches at one of the hotel breakfast spots. I ordered pepper, ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and some coffee. It really hit the spot!
Once we ate and checked out of our room, we headed over to the hotel pool area. Since we went around 11 am, there were still some pool chairs left close to the water. We got the birthday girl a nice tropical beverage and I opted for a mimosa. Classy morning for me!
I loved how the pool area looked like a little tropical oasis. There was the main pool, and then 4 hot tubs, 2 bar areas, and a really nice locker room and restroom. We spent most of the day relaxing on our chairs and in the hot tub.
We ordered our lunch pool side and I got this mega chopped salad! Everything was fresh and delicious and filling. So good! I think this spot would make a fun anniversary trip for me since we got married in January. Its a little dose of summer time!
Around 4 we showered and changed in the locker rooms and got ready to hit the road. I really had a great time spending extra time with my sisters and my cousin. December is often a hectic and fast-paced month so it was nice to take some time with them and relax together and just have fun! I hope she enjoyed ringing in 30 with us!
I’m so glad we were all able to plan this weekend fun together for her. She’s truly a remarkably caring person and someone I consider to be my sister AND my best friend. (same as my other sister too!!!)
How was your weekend?
