Happy Friday, friends! Today kicks off a new series I’ll be doing where I showcase my favorite bloggers. My hope is that you can find new bloggers to read and follow. All of the bloggers I showcase are blogs I read on a daily basis. If you are a blogger and are interested in being featured, please email me at Polyglotjot@gmail.com! Today’s featured blogger is Katie who runs Live Half Full!
Blogger in the Spotlight: Live Half Full
What can readers expect to find on your blog? All about my journey to manage life a working mom.
Why did you start blogging? I started blogging when I was training for my first marathon and fundraising for the JDRF in memory of my Mom. I wanted a way for my donors to follow my training to hold me accountable. Since then it’s followed me through many of life’s phases- from getting engaged, to planning a wedding, pregnancy and now working motherhood.
Is blogging your full time career or just a creative outlet? Blogging is a creative outlet, however I recently starting writing freelance so that’s been fun! I work full time in Marketing at a Fortune 500 company.
What are you top three favorite blogs to read right now? I have been interviewing other working Moms in my blog series, My Full Life. I loved the interviews with Sarah, Jana and Amanda and consider them more mom friends than blogger friends since we’ve all been in it together!
What is the best thing about blogging? The best thing about blogging has been getting to know others who are in a similar life stage to me. While I was pregnant I found other Moms who were due around the same time as me and we still keep in touch!
The most challenging? The most challenging is a two fold- the combination of time management and the comparison trap. It’s easy to compare yourself to others and feel like you aren’t good enough. But, I’ve always held myself to blogging being a hobby- so if it’s not enjoyable or I feel overwhelmed I take a break and have always come back.
A Bit More Personal:
What is one thing people don’t know about you? Hmm… I would say that one fun fact about me is that I was on Team USA! I was a Synchronized Figure Skater growing up and competed at the National level for sixteen years and then at the International level for four. Synchronized Skating is not in the Olympics (yet!), however a lot of the ice dancers trained with my same coach growing up. So, it’s always fun to watch the Olympics!
Woah! That is majorly impressive!
Thank you, Katie for sharing a bit about your blog and yourself! Be sure to go head over to Katie’s blog now! Also, definitely follow her on Instagram and Facebook!
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend! Until Monday, happy blog reading!
