Hello! I hope that you had a lovely weekend! My weekend fun started after work on Friday night. I met Daniel at Christopher’s for dinner. It’s a bar and grill type of a feel which I always enjoy. They have a great menu selection but not so many choices that it’s overwhelming. The walls have local art hanging up, a modern looking bar area, and exposed brick walls. During the warm months you can also eat outside. Friday night was chilly and windy, so we opted to eat inside. It’s a great atmosphere but it’s a smaller restaurant and when it’s busy, it is really loud in there and hard to hear the other person at the table.
I ordered a Blueberry Wheat Ale, a cup of Vegetable Minestrone soup, and the Blackened Shrimp Salad. For dessert, we shared the Peanut Butter Pie. It was so yummy! I’m glad we shared dessert otherwise I would have had to be rolled out of the restaurant! After dinner we strolled over to the movie theater just a block or so away and saw the new James Bond movie, Spectre. The movie definitely had some great moments and overall I enjoyed it. HOWEVER…it was not my favorite James Bond movie. For anyone out there wondering if they should see it…I would still say yes. After the movie was over I pretty much went straight to bed. I’m an old lady on work nights because I wake up at 5:30 am!
Saturday morning was luxuriously lazy. I lit an apple candle and watched Undercover Boss on Netflix (watch that show for an emotional roller coaster of a time!) while I enjoyed a chocolate chip Belgian waffle and coffee. (Thanks, Daniel!) Does anyone else out there have mugs that they love to use only on the weekend? I have a few mugs that I call “Saturday mugs” and use them only on Saturday when I can take long to enjoy coffee.
After lounging, I got dressed, did some errands, and did a deep clean of my apartment. If I clean my whole apartment & have my meals and workouts planned I always feel happier, more productive, and ready for the week ahead. I also find I enjoy cooking more when my kitchen is clean to start. Speaking of cooking, this week’s menu looks like this:
- Sunday: Ravioli & Salad
- Monday: Dinner on the road
- Tuesday: Oven-Baked Chili cheese dogs & broccoli
- Wednesday: Tuna Melts & Soup
- Thursday: Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Tilapia & green beans
- Friday: Sesame Chicken, Egg Rolls, & Rice
Sunday I enjoyed time with my two sisters and my 1 year old niece. It’s my favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon! She’s beginning to walk around some and her personality is really starting to come out as she gets older. She is too cute for words!
