Foodie Friday: Oatmeal 5 Ways

Happy Friday! With this arctic cold lingering, I have most definitely been needing some hot meals and drinks this week! Today I thought I would share five of my favorite ways to spice up plain oats for some delicious oatmeal!

  1. PB&J:PB&J I made quick oats with water and oats and added 2 Teaspoons of Grape Jelly & 1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter. Make sure you choose a jelly or jam with no added junk like high fructose corn syrup or added sugars. If you like thinner oatmeal, make sure to add extra water or milk because the Peanut butter thickens it up quite a bit.

Maple blueberry2.Maple Blueberry: I made quick oats with reduced sugar vanilla almond milk and added a handful of fresh blueberries and drizzled maple syrup over top. It was just the right amount of sweetness! Use real maple syrup it’s worth the price and there’s no added dyes or chemicals like in the fake stuff!

choc strawberries3. Chocolate Strawberries: I made the quick oats with almond milk and added 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips, and about 5 cut strawberries. The dark chocolate melted in to the oats and it was delicious!

brown sugar vanilla

4. Brown Sugar & Vanilla: I cooked the oats with vanilla almond milk and added 1 teaspoon of organic dark brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.

cinnamon and honey

5. Honey & Cinnamon: I cooked the oats with vanilla almond milk and added 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Deliciously sweet!
