Gender Reveal Party

Gender Reveal Party

Happy Monday, friends! I hope that you had an amazing weekend! Tell me what you were up to in the comment section below. Last Wednesday night, we had our immediate family over for a little gender reveal party!

Gender Reveal Party

Our 20 week anatomy scan was last Monday morning and we told them not to tell us the gender because of our cake. Instead they put the gender results in a sealed envelope which I delivered directly to the bakery to make our cake! I went for a simple vanilla cake with chocolate frosting with the he or she cut to see words on top. Luckily, there is a specialty bakery near us that is gluten free and vegan! Those two days of waiting were insane!

After a full day of being anxious and antsy at work, we decided to cut in to the cake right when everyone got there and then have dinner. I don’t think I could have waited another moment. I’m so excited to announce that we are expecting a little baby girl! When I saw that pink icing I was definitely shocked but so so very excited!

After cutting the cake, we enjoyed pizza, chips, drinks, and salad. I got a few little presents from my family which was so kind and also super exciting! I got a few girl onesies and a nursing gown and robe to bring with me to the hospital. Our little girl is already getting some very fashionable clothes!

I was really glad we decided to go the gender reveal cake route and find out with our close family members. It was a night I’ll always remember with a big smile on my face. We are so excited to meet you, baby girl! You are so loved already <3

Best cake flavor? Would you do a gender reveal cake?

    • Yes, it was a lot of fun! Some parents decide to find out in advance but since we were doing the cake, we decided to be surprised too!

  1. Congratulations! I had a feeling that it was going to be a little girl, but all babies are honestly such an amazing blessing! I love the gender reveal cake idea, and incorporating it into an event with family and friends! Sending prayers and blessings to you and your baby 🙂

  2. That is such a fun idea!!! I would have never have thought to ask a bakery if they would do this. This girl is already so so loved. So happy and excited for you 🙂

  3. This is so sweet! Congrats on your little girl! I love the idea of a gender reveal party. The one I DON’T like is when people don’t tell their friends or family members the name of the baby. I’m like seriously?! What if I wanted to get him/her a customized teddy or blanket?! lol

  4. Wow I am SO late to this- but CONGRATS, beautiful! I have to be honest, I am shocked too! I thought she was going to be a boy. But awwwww you are going to be the best mama to that little girl. So happy for you!

    • Thanks, Mackenzie! I was so so shocked the icing was pink! I am going to start my baby registry this weekend and I see some girl things in my future!
