Monthly Must-Haves: March 2016

Welcome to my monthly must-haves post where I post my favorite items from 4 different categories: Food/Drink, Fashion/Beauty, Entertainment, & Home Goods. Let’s get right in to my March favorites!

Food/Drink:

  • Caramelized onion hummus: This hummus has a really great smokey flavor to it. I loved spreading it on some gluten free toast and topping it with a fried egg for breakfast! Hummus toast should be up there with avocado toast! 🙂

  • Kale, Carrot, & Spinach Dippin’ Chips: I have been loving these little tortilla chips dipped in the caramelized onion hummus or in salsa. I love the extra flavor that the veggies provide and I’ll definitely be buying these again!

  •  Cajun Spice: This seasoning is my JAM right now! I am putting it on eggs, veggies, potatoes, you name it! Its a spice blend with a perfect amount of kick. Not overly spicy where you can’t enjoy the food or taste anything else, but gives any dish some great flavor! I’ve especially enjoyed it sprinkled on some sauteed kale, cabbage, and shrimp…so good!

Fashion/Beauty:

  • Spring tops: I got these three new tops from Ross a couple of weeks ago. I love that they are dressy enough for work but really comfortable and SOO SPRINGY! Each shirt was $9.99!

  • Burt’s Bees Sensitive Skin wipes: These little cleansing cloths are great when you aren’t able to wash your face and want to freshen up. They’re also great for taking off  eye make-up before bed. I also like that these are for sensitive skin and that they are unscented.

Entertainment:

  • House of Cards: Daniel and I watched all of season 4 this March on Netflix. I was disappointed with last season, so I was nervous about what they would do with this season. Overall, I enjoyed this season a lot better than 3, but wasn’t too happy with the ending. Any fans out there? What did you think?

  • Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban: I finally finished book 3 of Harry! I didn’t do too much reading this month and did not yet start book 4. Hopefully I’ll get to read more in April! I’m now behind on my 2016 reading list but that’s okay!

February

Home Goods:

  • Pineapple Towel: Look at this cute pineapple towel! I bought this at Target for 2 bucks and I love how springy it is! I always like to switch up my kitchen towels with the seasons and thought this was super cute!

  • Spiralizer: I found this Spiralizer at Ross for $9. I love me some spaghetti squash but its a PAIN to cut that thing every single week! I need a break from the squash cutting and “zoodles” will be my go-to for a while! spiralizer

  1. I NEED to try out that hummus!! It sounds amazing – caramelized onions are my favorite. Also, is this your first time reading the HP books?!? If so, I’m so very jealous. I always say I wish I could read them for the first time all over, since I read them as a kid when they first came out. I like to read the first 2 or 3 (before they get too scary) out loud to the boys.

  2. Caramelized onion hummus?? Sign me up!
The 3rd HP book was my 2nd favorite, right after the 5th. I reread the 3rd the most though.
During the summer I use my spiralizer so much during the summer when zucchini is on sale. Sooooo good!

    • I think if I had to pick my favorite book it would either be book 1 because its jsut so amazing or book 6 because I love hearing about Snape’s backstory. I think after I’m done re-reading them all I’ll have a better idea of which one is my favorite.

Yes, seriously go out and search for that kind of hummus its soo flavorful!

  3. That hummus sounds amazing!! I never can find any other flavors besides original and roasted red pepper. I bought a spiralizer a couple of months ago, and have yet to use it. LOL I like that pineapple towel. It makes me wish I was on a beach somewhere sipping a pineapple drink! 🙂

    • I read all of the books a few years ago and have been now re-reading the series. I’m loving re-reading them because theres certain details I’ve forgotten that arent in the movies too!

  4. Oh my gosh… that hummus looks divine!!! I have got to find that!! I love my spiralizer… my favorite veggies to spiralize are zucchini and sweet potatoes.

  5. I’ve seen caramelized onion hummus but have never tried it! Now that you say the word “smokey” in your review – I MUST try it (heart smoke).
I stopped reading HP after book 4. Ugh. So not proud :(.
9$ spiralizer!? How jealous! I really need to get myself one of those.. even if it means forking over some mula. There’s too many pretty dishes to make with it!

    • Did you watch the harry potter movies? I found that I enjoyed the books more. But that’s okay if you didn’t like it! 🙂
I also heart smokey anything…its so delicious!!
Yes, the spiralizer I got is a small hand held one not a fancy crank one…those are too expensive for me! I know i cant wait to make pretty zoodles!
