Pregnancy Update: Weeks 29-32

Pregnancy Update: Weeks 29-32

It’s time for another pregnancy update for baby girl! I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant and can’t believe another month has gone by!

Baby Growth:

Baby has grown from the size of an acorn squash to the size of a large Jicama (random!). She is about 16.6 inches and weighs about 3.75 pounds.

Weight Gained:

I gained about 3 pounds this month for a total of around 12 pounds gained total.

More intense symptoms from previous month. I have a lot of heart burn these days. I also feel many braxton hicks contractions, lots of aches and pains, and general exhaustion. Also experiencing all of last month’s symptoms.

Working Out:

Living is a workout now. My 9 hour work days have been totally exhausting me lately. I have a long walk from the train to my office building and it’s been a really big challenge walking there. I tend to get a lot of tightening/aches/pains while walking and have to take breaks.

Food Cravings:

French Fries, mushrooms sauteed in soy sauce, vegetable sushi, Pickles on toast, Pizza, Green Smoothies, every sweet I can find.

Food Aversions:

Still hate savory in the morning.

Baby Related Purchases:

Car seat, diapers, wipes, summer swaddlers, hangers, and 2 pairs of shorts for baby girl. Nursing bras and nursing tank tops for mama, and a few items for my recovery. Would anyone be interested in a recovery post where I talk about the things I will be using for my own recovery?

Best Moments:

My baby shower!!! It was awesome! If you’d like to read about it, you can check out my baby shower post!

Seeing her room painted and her things being sorted out. It’s a nice reminder that she’s coming in for a landing soon 🙂

Birth Class & Hospital Tour. I really enjoyed the class and seeing the hospital, knowing where to go, etc. I feel a bit more prepared for the whole thing now and liked that they included the dads-to-be too!

Looking Forward To:

Getting her nursery together!

Finishing packing my hospital bag.

Moms, best part of third trimester & Worst part? Recovery tips? When did you pack your hospital bag?

  1. Best part of the third trimester, definitely having the baby 🙂 The worst part for me was really bad acid reflux, which made it so hard to sleep at night. One tip I have is to bring your hospital bag with you to those last few appointments. I went in for a normal appointment and had to be induced. I brought my bag with me just in case and was so glad I did! (Although I honestly didn’t use much from the bag). One other random tip – if your hospital only allows clear liquids during labor (which mine did), maybe bring something like vegetable broth with you? I was craving something salty so badly and the only I could have was some pretty gross chicken broth from a microwave packet…

    • That’s a great idea! I’m trying to get things together now so I don’t have to think about it as the weeks get closer! My hospital is a clear liquids hospital too–I’ll pick up some broth! Great tip!

    • I’ll be working until I go in to labor! It is quite exhausting! I get up at 5:30am for work and get home at 5:30pm!

  2. You look great! I did write on my blog last time I was pregnant what I packed in my hospital bag. This time I’m sneaking water bottles and tums in, ha. My heartburn was SO bad during labor and you can’t have any water or anything, but I puked from it being so bad! So I figure I’ll just break the rules a little if I need it 😉 lol But really, nipple cream, slippers, going home outfit, and I personally showered every day and put make up on because it made me feel better, ha. I think I packed it at 34 weeks for pregnancy 1 and I’m just about done now for this one(36 weeks). I can’t wait to see the nursery done! I’m sure it’s perfect. Best part of this trimester is knowing SO SOON you will have her in your arms, and just the fun of putting together everything. Worst part is the up at night peeing, can’t bend/turn/move easily, heartburn, ha. oh.. and labor 😉

  3. You look adorable in that striped top, and I can imagine that life is such a workout when you’re nourishing and caring for a little one inside of you right now. Thank you for sharing Heather. It’s been a gift seeing this precious baby journey.

  4. You already took a tour of the hospital? That’s awesome! I’m sure it will feel much more familiar that way when you’re actually in labor; great idea 🙂

    • Yeah, they recommend you take the class and tour your 7th month of pregnancy and I’m 8 months along now! Actually, at this point, I was already born because I was born premature at 31 weeks!

  5. I am loving these posts! I have to say I loled when I read the foods I crave. Pickles on toast and mushrooms in soy sauce…. now those are pregnancy cravings if I have ever heard it! Love this! Thanks for including us in your journey <3

    • Isn’t that hilarious?! I woke up at 2am to go to the bathroom and that’s when I most wanted the pickles on toast…hahaha!
