Sisterly Weekend

Sisterly Weekend

And just like that, it’s Monday again. I hope that everyone had a good weekend! As I mentioned in my last Foodie Friday post, I had plans for some sisterly bonding this weekend! Her boyfriend was away for the weekend, and my husband was working very late on Friday, so we decided to get together.

She invited me to go with her to a paint night at a local place called Dish and Dabble for a girl’s night of painting, snacks, and drinks.

Some of her work friends came and it was a fun group of ladies. Each person brought appetizers and wine for everyone to share. The paint place provided cups, plates, utensils, and a food table for us. We ended up having QUITE a spread, most of which I was able to eat! (I am currently on a gluten free diet.

After chatting, setting up the food table, and getting some snacks and wine, we all settled down to the tables to start painting. The design of the day was cherry blossoms. The artist showed us some techniques to make the design and she was awesome! We had a playlist of songs going in the background and it was very relaxing.painting 1

I decided on pink and aqua for my glasses and my sister did the same. I think they turned out pretty cute!

After our painting, I went back to my sister’s house and we drank wine, watched chopped, and then I slept over. Saturday morning, she made us coffee and breakfast, and we watched Netflix and had a nice lazy morning.

In the afternoon, we met up with my other sister and my niece for a little Target and Babies R Us trip. I ended up getting my weekly groceries at Target this week and was able to find nearly everything I needed.

I went home after shopping and relaxed with my husband who I hadn’t really seen since Monday due to opposite work schedules! (PLUS we got to continue on with the new House of Cards!)

On Sunday, we went to church and then decided to all go out to lunch at Chilis.I had a Caribbean Salad with grilled shrimp and it was soo good…so good that I forgot to take a picture. My niece, both of my sisters, my parents, and Daniel all came to lunch, so it was fun having everyone together.

Overall, this weekend I was able to spend a lot of time with my sisters and my niece which is always a good weekend in my book!

  1. Your niece is too cute!! So nice that you were able to spend time with your sisters. I really want to do a painting class soon – I loved to paint in high school and still do occasionally!
