Welcome to the World Baby Shower

This past weekend my mom, sisters, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law threw me a fantastic baby shower. I knew they would do a wonderful job, but I felt so happy with how everything turned out. Here’s a few highlights from the day!

Welcome to the World Baby Shower

The theme of the shower was “welcome to the world” with an around the world/travel feel to it. If you have known me for any amount of time, you know I’ve done a lot of traveling, speak several languages, and love different cultures. They did a buffet style lunch with food from different countries and a flag in the food to represent that country. I enjoyed some vegan/gluten free baked Ziti (Italy), Vegetable sushi (Japan), a taco (Mexico), and some Greek salad (Greece). They also had a great fruit and veggie spread to enjoy on the side!

The center pieces were balloons that looked like globes on top of maps. Everything was so creative and well done! For dessert, they ordered from the vegan/gluten free bakery that I’m always raving about so I was able to enjoy banana chocolate chip cake, a variety of cookies, and peanut butter oatmeal bars. I had forgotten what it was like to be able to have so many choices!

There was a station where they had people write messages on diapers so that we can read them as we change her at 2 am and who knows what else. There was also a guess how many M&M’s in the bottle game, a baby word scramble, and a word search for guests to play for a prize.

I really enjoyed catching up with friends and family, eating delicious food, and opening up so many generous gifts. Luckily, we had the help of family to load and unload all of our baby loot from the cars to our apartment.

Post-Party

As I showed Daniel all of the things we received, I was reminded again how much I appreciate and love my family and friends. Thank you to everyone who had a part in my shower. It was a day I was looking forward to and it went beyond my expectations. This little lady is already so loved and I feel so very blessed and supported. <3

Where have you traveled before? Do you like shower games? Best ethnic cuisine?

  1. Ok that is such a fun theme… I also love that people wrote messages on diapers for you; that will be a good encouragement for you when you’re changing diapers. I love traveling; my favorite place ever would either be Alaska or Switzerland. 🙂

  2. Wow. That is one heck of a baby shower! The ladies in your family sure know how to do it right.
I love the theme – and i love that they made sure you got your tacos!! And all the gf sweets too, of course.
Id love to learn more about your past travels. What is your favorite place you’ve been?

    • Yes, they know me well! Favorite place is probably Costa Rica. I spent 10 days working as a translator in the jungle for a mission’s trip of builders. They were building a house in the mountains for the pastor to live in while he started a new church. It was literally in the middle of nowhere on the side of the most beautiful mountain/jungle and there were monkeys and so many beautiful creatures!

  3. What! This is perfection! This is the most creative baby shower I have ever seen. How cool. I may have to do something similar when my time comes! I love love love this
