Whirlwind Week

Whirlwind Week

Happy Monday, friends! I hope that you had a great weekend and as always, please tell me about it in the  comment section below! Thank you for all of the well wishes and positive vibes last week about me moving. I felt the love and support of each and every one of you! Today I’m popping in to share a bit about our moving day and also to share this week’s menu.

Moving Whirlwind:

Thursday night after work, Daniel and I tied up all random loose ends that we could packing wise. We took our bed apart and packed most everything that we could and then went to bed on the mattress on the floor. It was like we were camping in our bedroom! 🙂 I only wish we I had thought to make s’mores on the floor 😉

Friday morning we loaded SUV’s and vans owned by helpful family and moved in a few trips. Although we did take up our whole moving time slot of 9-1, we had no major hiccups or disasters! I made sure to sit as much as I could, do zero heavy lifting, and I tried to stay hydrated throughout the day. Once we got everything in, Daniel and some of the men set up the bed, dresser and positioned some of the larger living room furniture so we could at least have some living space! I ordered Vietnamese food for all of our helpers and we ate that before starting to unpack the essentials. After several hours of unpacking what we could, we called it a night and had more Vietnamese for dinner and went to bed sore, tired, but happy! I’ll definitely show you more pictures once we are more settled!

Now as I’m writing this to you on Sunday afternoon, we have made a very large dent in unpacking and things are already feeling a bit more like home. Heck, I even baked an oatmeal for the week in my new kitchen!

    • I decided to put together the meal plan so that I would know that at least we had our meals in order while everything else is still be organized haha!

  1. I’m so glad your move went well; it’s always a blessing when they go smoothly. And that feeling of relief after you get in and go to sleep for the first night in your new house is AMAZING! <3 Can't wait to hear about all the new adventures you have there.

    • Okay! I made the pesto last night and it tasted really good but was much thicker than I wanted it to be…I think next time I’ll soak my almonds overnight before processing them or I’ll try it with pine nuts?

  2. Glad the new place is starting to feel like home. I hope it continues to feel that way more and more. Glad you took care of yourself throughout the moving process and knew your limits.
I always think it’s exciting to try out a new kitchen for the first time.

    • It has been exciting! The new place is a gas stove too and I’ve had electric for the past 4 years so it’s been a lovely change!
