WIAW: 16 Weeks Pregnant

Happy Wednesday!! I hope that your week is going well so far! It’s supposed to be a little warmer (read: above freezing) the rest of the week here in PA, and I’m sincerely hoping that’s correct! People who love the winter, please tell me in the comments why you love it. I just don’t understand!! ๐Ÿ™ Anyway, enough whining from me! Since getting pregnant, I’ve been extremely nauseous all of the time. Just this week at 16 weeks, I’m starting to feel a bit better. Since I’m eating a bit more normal now, I thought it’d be a good time to jump back in on the WIAW train!

WIAW: 16 Weeks Pregnant

Breakfast:

Gluten free Everything bagel with vegan cream cheese & a Smoothie. Smoothie had spinach, a frozen banana, frozen mixed berries, peanut butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and almond milk. This was the first morning in 4 months that I’ve eaten something WITH the bagel! MIRACLES!!!!

Lunch:

Granny Smith Apple & Peanut butter & an Egg Salad sandwich with pickles on toasted bread. I made the egg salad with mayo, mustard, dill, Lawry’s seasoning, pepper, and paprika. On some of my most nauseous weeks, egg salad was often something I could stomach for dinner. I’m still loving it!ย

Snack:

Raw natural almonds & cashews with some random Grape Tomatoes.ย

Dinner:

Black bean enchiladas: Spinach, red onion, corn, black beans, and bell pepper over a bed of wild ย rice. I topped them with half a small avocado (Winter avocados are expensive and wildly small!) some tomatoes and some cracked pepper.ย

Dessert:

I had some Qia cereal mixed with Honey Nut Chex and almond milk for dessert. I’ve found that eating cereal before bed helps me not be quite so nauseous the next morning. Plus, it’s delicious!ย

Cereal for dessert fan? Favorite cereal? Go-to Sandwich?

Tell me in the comments below!

  1. Let’s not talk about how much “fun” cereal Alex and I go through… and that is cereal that isn’t for breakfast! I love anything by Special K, Chex, Raisin Bran Crunch, Love Grown Foods…. hell, I love it all!
Glad to hear you are feeling better! I hope it stays that way!
Also, your preg announcement was boss ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. It’s funny, my husband and I both don’t really like cereal. We both ate it as kids, but in the almost 8 years we have been together, we never buy it. It is just not something I ever think about eating.
Girl, I don’t understand how people like the winter/snow either. Ugh. I will admit that when we lived in Utah, I loved the snow ONLY on days when we would go to Park City to ski… other than that… no.

    • Really?! What do you guys love as a snack or dessert? Do you have an obsession?
Me either–I wonder if the people who love Winter havent fully experienced the joys of warm weather?!

  3. Cereal is my go to snack! I’m a fan of honey nut Cheerios but there are very few cereals I don’t like. I love egg salad sandwiches, I could eat them probably every day! My mom made them for me when I was little and I still love them. I’m glad there are some foods that you’re able to stomach, morning sickness sounds rough, but it’s a sign of a healthy pregnancy (or so I’ve heard)!

    • Honey Nut cheerios and peanut butter cheerios are so good! Yes, it’s definitely a sign that my hormones are doing what they’re supposed to be. It’s totally all worth it but luckily I’ve been feeling better the past two weeks!

  4. Yay for the nausea going down and finding things that help it out!! (cereal comes in for the win yet again!!). So glad you feel you can eat nice and normally right now – that must be such a delicate thing during this process. Your breakfast and lunch are some of my faves. Thank you for reminding me to add paprika to my next egg salad. You knocked it out of the park with seasonings. Andddddd everything bagels are everything.

    • I used to be a huge sandwich person and now I go through spurts where I love them and then other times when I’m not too in to them

  5. I love oatmeal BUT not so much dry cereal because it never really fills me up! When I do have cereal I tend to mix multiple different cereals … raisin nut bran, chex, and cheerios

    • Oatmeal is definitely way better for a meal! I so agree with you. When I eat cereal as anything but a snack or dessert, I get hungry in 20 minutes haha! Chex is delicious!
