WIAW: Breastfeeding/6 Months Postpartum

WIAW: Breastfeeding/6 Months Postpartum

Happy WIAW, friends! Today I’m sharing a day of eats as a breastfeeding mom of a 6 month old. I definitely eat way more carbs than I do when I’m not breastfeeding. Right now my goal is to keep up my milk supply, eat healthy filling foods, and enjoy being a mama. Here’s a day on my plate!

WIAW: Breastfeeding/ 6 Months Postpartum

Breakfast:

Fried egg, vegan Chao cheese (creamy original flavor), vegan vegetable patty, and ketchup. My favorite gluten free bread just came out with a nuts and seeds bread and I’m sooooo excited about it! It’s Schar brand, so go out and get some…it’s worth it!

I also enjoyed some coffee with coconut milk while Aubrey napped and I made a mad dash to get some blog work done.

Snack:

A couple of hours later, I was once again starving so I made a smoothie. Do you still crave smoothies in the Winter? I’ve really been craving them lately and it’s a good way to get in some fruit while fresh produce is not at it’s cheapest like in the summer. This one was spinach, kale, banana, frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, 1 scoop of chocolate Vega protein powder, and almond milk. Also had a side of a cute baby.

Lunch:

Dr. Praeger’s Kale burger over quinoa pasta with some marinara sauce.

Side of baby carrots straight from the bag while Aubrey played on her play mat.

Snack:

Larabar in the peanut butter cookie flavor. Eaten in between nursing sessions.

Dinner:

Here’s a recycled stir fry photo because it gets dark at like 4:30pm and the lighting was terrible. This is basically what I ate anyway.

What’s your favorite veggie burger recipe or brand? Favorite smoothie combo?

  1. Hilary’s Eat Well burgers are good. The root veggie burger is my favorite. I think smoothies are still perfect in the winter. Also, I don’t have access to a blender right now, and I think the “absence makes the heart grow fonder” phenomenon is happening because I’ve been craving them even when it’s 22 degrees outside.

Your little munchkin totally makes my heart melt. Glad she napped for you that day and you were able have a moment alone 🙂

    • Yes, I agree! It had been a while since I had a smoothie and I was craving it like there was no tomorrow! Thank you, she definitely melts my heart multiple times a day.

    • You’re right! I never want anything cold in the winter months but for some reason this smoothie craving has really hit me. I think it could be in part due to the fact that my apartment gets great natural light but that also means that for a large part of the morning the sun cooks the whole apartment. Even when we turn the heat off or down it’s like 80 degrees in there on a sunny day. Other than that though I don’t want cold stuff…I never understand those people who want ice cream all winter long.
